Becoming a grandmother often awakens memories of our own pregnancies, births, and early mothering. Many women carry unspoken stories of how they were mothered or how they mothered under pressure, often with limited support, or within systems that did not honour their bodies.
This healing journey is an invitation to pause, remember, and tend to your own story of mothering, so that you may support new mothers with greater presence and care.
We hold postpartum care as intergenerational work. Healing the grandmother is not separate from supporting the new mother. It is the ground from which cultural safety can become part of the medicalised definition of safe birth.
When a grandmother heals what she carried, care changes shape across generations.
